Whether you lean towards cheerful watercolor, or crisp white and gold, the Color Cross stamp set is stunning for handmade Easter cards. An embossed sentiment and Fashion Silver, plus a Whip Cream card base finished off each of these watercolor cards. While the panel was still wet I splattered some Sparkle Silk. As it began to dry, I painted some more layers of color until most of the panel was covered. I began loosely painting it onto the Watercolor Sheet, on top of the cross. Next, I mixed a few drops of Liquid Color with a few drops of water onto a palette. First, I embossed the cross in white onto a Color Splash Watercolor Sheet. ![]() Next up, I got COLORFUL! I had so much fun with this technique that I made a trio of cards. ![]() A simple background and a few Fashion Gold finished off this elegant card. To finish this card, I die cut some sprigs and leaves from Mirror Gold and Brush Gold cardstock, and stamped/embossed my sentiment in gold onto vellum. Then I popped it up on foam squares and adhered it to the die cut cross. I die cut the first cross, and then I detail cut just the center section of the second cross. ![]() I did want to add some dimension so first I stamped and embossed the cross two times onto Whip Cream cardstock. The Color Cross Stamp Set has a beautiful intricate design to it and it looks stunning with a variety of coloring techniques – but for this card, I kept it crisp and bright. And if you’ve been hanging out on the FSJ blog with me, you might remember that too many choices make me panic and plummet into a crafty funk! So today I narrowed it down and I have two cards to share with you, featuring the same stamp set. I’m getting started on some cards, and sometimes I can’t decide whether to go colorful, cute, elegant, clean and simple, layered – there are a lot of possibilities for Easter cards. Hello, crafty friends! It’s Laura Williams here on the blog today and I thought we could have a chat about Easter cards.
